MINUTES OF THE EXTRAORDINARY MEETING OF FALDINGWORTH PARISH COUNCIL

23/06/01 Apologies and Reasons for Absence
No apologies were received as all Members present
23/06/02 To receive declarations of interest on any item on the Agenda
There were none
23/06/03 Appointment of Acting Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer for the purposes of this Meeting
It was Resolved that Cllr Green be appointed
23/06/4 Financial Matters
Year End Accounts -
Bank Reconciliation 2022 -2023 : The report was received and Resolved that it be approved
Variance Report 2022 -2023 : The report was received and Resolved that it be approved
Governance Statements for AGAR 2022 -2023:
Internal Auditors Report : Members were reminded that they had seen, discussed and accepted the Report at the Meeting on 17th May 2023

Certificate of Exemption
The above three documents were considered and it was Resolved that they be approved
They were signed by the Chair and Acting Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer.
Payments:
There were no payments made in the period since the last meeting
23/06/05 Urgent items for discussion
PAYE
Following the Internal Auditor’s Report on the issue of PAYE considered at the last meeting, and as agreed, Cllr Green had investigated the requirements of HMRC for payroll payments and returns, and had contacted two firms of accountants to obtain quotations for this work on behalf of the Council should it be decided to outsource the work. After full consideration, and in view of the urgency to secure compliance with HMRC Rules, it was Resolved that The Chair and Cllr Green be authorised to pursue quotations for the work, including contacting a possible third firm, and subject to receipt of a quotation which they were satisfied was reasonable, that they be authorised to give instructions to an accountancy firm to act for the Council.
Playing Field and Play Area
It had been noted that areas around play equipment had not been strimmed and it was agreed that the Clerk check that this had been included as a requirement in the grass cutting contract, and raise the issue with the contractors accordingly.
Access Road to Council Car Park
A query was raised about responsibility for maintenance of the access road, and it was agreed that this be investigated by the Clerk with a report to a future meeting.
23/06/06 Future Meeting
The next meeting of the parish Council will be Wednesday 19th July 2023.
The Meeting Closed at 8pm.
